Alvaro Cuevas- StarEDGE
Álvaro is a Solutions Architect at StarEDGE, where he focuses on remote connectivity solutions from his base in Barcelona, Spain. He brings a strong technical foundation in satellite connectivity built over more than a decade of hands-on network engineering, and in recent years has complemented that expertise with a broader business perspective, both through his move into the Solutions Architect role and, more recently, an MBA in IT completed last year.
In his role, Álvaro bridges the technical and commercial sides of the business, translating complex network requirements into practical, high-performance connectivity architectures for clients operating in some of the world's most demanding environments.
Álvaro has been Solutions Architect since 2021, a role that built on his earlier work as an Operations Engineering IP specialist, the technical escalation point for data, voice, video, MPLS, and SDH network solutions, at StarEDGE (formerly MTN Satellite, EMC, Global Eagle Entertainment, and Anuvu). His earlier career was spent in network operations and delivery roles supporting maritime VSAT systems, giving him a ground-level understanding of the connectivity challenges that remote and mobile operations face.
Álvaro holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Universidad de Cantabria and an MBA in IT and Business Administration from Universidad Europea de Madrid.
